University UCU Women’s Rep Penny Grifiths welcomes two esteemed guest speakers in the second installment of the ‘Celebrating Equality and Diversity’ series:

Rhiannon Lockley (Halesowen College), West Midlands Regional Women’s Rep, will be discussing women’s rights, the gender pay gap, and life as an academic, union activist and mother.

Coventry University’s own Randhir Auluck, internationally published academic, politician, magistrate, board member, trade union activist, and working mother bringing up a child on her own, talks of balancing her roles and the challenge of breaking into some ‘closed’ circles.

Closure of Coventry University Music Department

Coventry University has had several highly rated and successful courses in Music performance, composition and technology.  There are plans to close all or some of these courses, which we in UCU are deeply concerned about and currently seeking to represent the interests of members in regard of.  The resources and facilities in the Music Department are excellent.  We want to see these programmes, which play an important role in the cultural life of the city of Coventry kept open for staff and students.

Members of the Music Department have circulated the following petition.  Please sign and share this:
